A Macbook. I had always heard they were superior to PC notebooks, so I bought one, at twice the cost I would have spent on an HP Pavilion notebook (which I have used before, without problems). I found the user interface completely debilitating to my work, not to mention the fact that it would crash and fail to respond for at least 5 minutes.

My husband and I saved for a solid 18 months for our wedding. I don't regret anything about it because we got exactly the wedding we wanted. Even with some of the corners we had to cut to make the wedding fit our budget (instead of the other way around), we still don't regret a single decision we made. Were there some things I would have done differently if I'd had more money at my disposal? Of course, but I don't feel like our wedding was missing anything because of it. We could have gotten married for a lot less, by going to the county courthouse to do it, but we knew we wanted our wedding to be a certain way, and spent the next year-and-a-half saving up to fulfill that vision. You are right to hesitate in regards to spending a ton of money on one day. Some people can afford it. Most people can't. I would not put every penny you have into a one day celebration. The smart thing is to either have the wedding you can afford (if you want to get married right away) or wait and save up your money until you can afford the wedding you want. You are no less married after going to the courthouse than you are after a $50k blowout bash at a country club. It's important to have a celebration you are going to enjoy, but is one day's worth of enjoyment worth starting out your life broke or in debt?

Cars...Cars..Cars ...ALWAYS CARS.. they are always being recalled and cant be fixed or easily diagnosed for problems (you need a computer scan ) Major bucks just to find out whats wrong in the first place thats before the repair costs actually start. I've owned about 30 cars, always the optimist , I always hope this next car will run great.. Then the BIG LET DOWN...one of my cars right now has had the "check engine" light on for 5 years. I asked my friend about it, he said "does the car start ok." I said "yes"..he said "dont worry about it:.. so I havent....:( Happy Motoring ....

Trucks and Cars, there the worst for me, you buy the extended warranty and not long after that runs out there is a problem, you spend 31grand at 9% over 60 mo, and you still do not win for the car or truck (with 4x4) still turns out to be worth nothing when you decided to sale it.
I have a car in the shop right now and the shop mechanic calls me and tells me (after 600 in parts and labor) he still does not know what is wrong with it.

when I first got my learner's permitt, I bought a cute little car, $1500. (which is alot to me) and after driving it a few miles twice, it broke down. Mechanics said practically everything was wrong with it, not worth fixing and I felt like such a fool, but hey, I learned and luckily my fiance can fix basically anything.

My wedding. The way it turned out it would have been better to elope or to call it off and take a great trip to Italy.
