If you are trying to conceive, you can use cervical mucus and basal body temp to determine your ovulation date. You can then track your basal temp and be fairly certain when your morning temp stays consistently hight for 11-3 days.
If you aren't ttc and just want to know (after having unprotected sex or something), the best way to know is a test. Symptoms are very unreliable and are often the same as the ones you have with PMS. Swollen boobs, spotting, and flu-like symptoms can be signs of pregnancy; however, I get some of these no matter what.
The most sensitive test is a blood test from your doctor. Outside of that, there are better drugstore tests: AIM are the most sensitive, then CVS store brand (stick not cartridge )and First Response, finally are Clearblue Easy and e.p.t.

Most early pregnancy symptoms are that of PMS. Bloating, cramping, light bleeding, sore breasts etc. The reason that is is because your body has prepared the womb in preparation of ovulation...If the egg is not fertilized your body starts over by clearing everything out for a new fresh egg! Usually you can't know for sure by a home test if you are pregnant until you miss your period because the growing fetus has not expelled enough Hgc ( a hormone that is produced by a growing fetus) to register on the test.
That is why very early symptoms are not reliable! Because they so closely mimic your pre-menstrual symptoms!

I tested positive a day or two before my period was due, the line was really light, but definately there. I had lots of symptoms but I didn't really realize they were symptoms at the time. I had sore boobs, extreme hunger, cravings, moodiness and fatigue, all of which can be symptoms of pms, also. I also didn't have the cramps and bloating that I normally get before my period. Oh, and I didn't get my pre-period pimple either like usual. hope that helps... good luck :)

With me I knew I was pregnant a week before my period was late. My nipples were so sore, I wet the bed which I have never done before in my life, and I just felt pregnant. I had a stronger appetite too. Hope that helps you. I waited until I was 3 days late for my period, took a test that was inconclusive and then I took another that said yes.

i think it is like a week before her period some women have cramps before hand so thats why i figure then but the most accurate way to tell is to wait till the next day when it usually would have already started i found out that morning when i didnt wake up with cramps like normal and myu boobs didnt hurt either so yeah you could test a week before but it may not be accurate. but i know for a fact the day of your period if you didnt start and your wanting to be you could always check then with a test but hey they arent cheap lol well good luck i hope this helps a little.

If you know your body well enough, you can distinguish between PMS symptoms and possible pregnancy. Unless you really want to be preg. than you have a one-track mind that can easily fool you. I was sick to my stomach, something I don't ever get. I had really bad cramps before my period was to start, usually I don't get cramps until I actually start my period. I had slippery discharge after my ovulation, it should turn dry again. So it just depends on how well you know your body.

being really tired, cranky, feeling sick with flu like symptoms and/or being very emotional where everything would upset her. If you could give her a home pregnancy test that would be the best to find out.
