Why do some people feel the need to impose their faith upon me? Why can't some people greet me without the forethought of predjudice when they hear from gossip I am gay? I don't wear my private life on my sleave yet some of the most popular people turn out to be so shallow when the discover I've been with my guy for over 20 years. It's like all of a sudden I'm off the list of not being interested in them and they are ticked off. Never mind the whole reliogous thing in the US lately. There is starting what I can see a distrust of anyone not christian. Is Al Quaeda winning I sometimes ask myself. Are we that stupid as a nation to not see gays and straights aren't the problem? We're all here and we have to get along.

My question is, how do anti-gay americans justify themselves yet claim to love G-d and country, when they clearly despise fellow americans?

Great question. I ask that myself.

I think a lot of people have a skewed idea of the gay community - just sex and drugs and aids. This description can be applied to the heterosexual community too - visit a night club.

The fact that you've been with your partner for 20 years during a time when the divorce rate is +50% is impressive. Thou shalt not judge - why has this been forgotten? Irregardless of how you feel about homosexuality, it's not our place to judge. Especially in light of your relationship, which is your business.

Stand tall!

Because they're bored, think that they're right, and that God/Jesus taught them yatta, yatta... Not making fun of anybody, but that's the jist of what I've discovered from them. I don't have to worry about the gay issues, but I get crap too if I tell people I don't believe in creationism. It's like you can feel them shutting off towards you or it fires them into a heated debate, which I'm tired of debating because it doesn't change anything for anyone.

I agree. If they are so concerned about the people in their own backyard (America), why don't they do more about the drug dealers, gangs, criminals, or abusive parents? Why worry that a man loves another man, or a woman loves another woman? You're not harming anybody, unlike the finer examples of society listed above. Good question.

They are deluded in their own ignorance. I have nothing against religious or the faithful, unless the person follows it blindly or does not fully understand it. If they do not fully undertand something different from what they are, they sometimes follow what they were taught, read, or made to believe. Opinions and beliefs I think were forced on them, not offered as a choice.
I have found usually that the anti-gay americans, are usually anti-everthing else as well that is not believed to be patriotic.
USA!
(Sidenote: That made me think so I must end by telling you that I was caught wearing my private life on my sleeve once. It was quite embarassing)

You raise a really good question here. There is no justification for what they're doing. It's called hypocrisy. Religion is man-made, not G-d made. Therefore, people twist things according to their own agenda. Isn't it interesting that homosexuality exists throughout the animal kingdom? If it were such a sin, why did G-d allow it to happen throughout His creation? As for you and your paratner, kudos to you for being in a relationship for over 20 years. I'm a heterosexual who has never been able to achieve that goal and I would be happy to take advice from any couple who could offer tips!

I'm sorry you are being judged. It's no ones say and if they think you are they should ask you or not think about it if they can't find the balls to be honest. You know ... you make a good point, we are some what stooping to the level of ignorance that uneducated nations like that know because it's all they know. Anti-gay americans are scared of admiting that maybe ... just maybe they do not have the right to say you are right or wrong. That is my opinion anyway.

The Americans you speak of are the same ones who gave us a bad name with Slavory. Ignorant pompous fools who cannot accept someone for being different.

Just like the whole gay marriage thing. People say marriage is between a man and a woman, well according to religions, it is and that is their business. Marriage according to the law should be the same for everybody. The laws should be equal for everyone, let the religons do their thing. Seperation of Church and State is nonexistant anymore.

Most people think that gay people are wrong maybe because (1) politics (2) their religion. Just look at George W. Bush, he doesn't treat gay people like us equal as other people, but as a President he should treat all kinds of people equal... In the bible, the God wants sons to love their father, their brothers, their friends...etc, however, the God doesn't want any men to fell in love with other men (is that ironic?)

Surround yourself with friends that think like you and don't worry about the stupid religious freaks that can't think for themselves.

Many Christians seem to think that being gay/lesbian is the worst sin in the Bible. Nowhere does it say that.

From a Christian point, ALL are sinners. Nobody but God can say that your sins are any worse thine mine. (or vice versa)

In other words. Judge not......
