sin² x + cos² x = 1 <==We all know that!

As an example type this in Excel.

=SIN(PI()/6)^2+COS(PI()/6)^2

In Excel you have to give the angle measurment in radians.

I didn't know how to run the TE in excel ;o)
Thanks to **northstar** now I do.

Well I always was taught that
Sin(x)^2 + Cos(x)^2 always equals 1
This the trig version of the Pythagorean theorem.
You can test this in Excel

A) sinx / tanxcosx = sinx / (sinx/cosx)cosx = sinx / sinx = a million b) sin^4 x + sin^2 x cos^2 x = sin^2 x(sin^2 x + cos^2 x) = sin^2 x c) (sinx - sinxcos^2 x)/sin^2 x = sinx(a million - cos^2 x)/sin^2 x = sinx.Sin^2 x / sin^2 x = sinx
