It was a good option back in the old times when Arranged Marriages were the norm. Also, divorce was not an option (forbidden), so if a husband had good sex with his wife, but after a few years if he lost interest in her, then he could marry another woman & keep f**king her & so on. You have to remember that the second, third and later wives had their own choice on whether to marry him or not.

Basically a man could have all the fun of sex he wanted, and still keep up with religious customs (sex within marriage, etc.)

Nowadays, since divorce has become common & since women have nearly equal rights as men, polygamy has become a bad practice.

When I read the book "The Red Tent" I got an understanding of polygamy as a necessary system for keeping kids alive in a harsh dessert environment.

Nowadays, as long as everyone involved is over 21 and wasn't groomed to be a polygamist wife, I really don't care.

It was an accepted practice in many cultures during the early centurys. I believe the Mormons practiced it a lot. Native American tribes did too. Personally, it wouldn't be right for me.
I'm much too dominant of a female to share my man with any
other woman.
But, I'm not against it. If others feel it's right for them. I think it's just one of many things that the government has made illegal, that shouldn't be
Americans are supposed to have freedom in this country, but we really don't. The government is slowly taking it all away.
Did you know it is now illegal and a felony to smoke in your car when there is a child under 18 in it with you ? Maine passed that law. So did New York. Massachusetts is considering it. It is expected to pass there. Arkansas is considering it, too.
New York also passed a law that says it is illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving, even with a hands free device. Several other states have that law, too.

Depends on the situation and the people involved. Push comes to shove my opinion is that I really don't care. However, if the men get to have more than one wife then, I feel, the wife should be allowed more than one husband. Fair is fair.

I am divorced. It was hard enough being married to one woman. More than one, there is no way.

I don't really care, as I know I will not be crossing that bridge again. And, if by some chance I do, one woman is more than enough to have to put up with.

would think it would be wonderful if I could be one of 2 husbands for a woman! takes the pressure of the bedroom performance, 1/2 the chores around the house- more time for enjoying life.. and you still have love and a fulfilling sex life.. would be perfect.. where can I get this??

I think it's wrong. Even though it was common during Bible times, I don't think it's right for it to happen today.

I am committed to my wife, and would never want to be married to more than 1 woman at a time.

I feel that if those involved can handle it it's wonderful...I can see where it would work out quite well...but I can also understand why it wouldn't. One has to be very "progressive" in their thinking and very accepting.

I certainly do not agree with polygamy. I believe a man should only be allowed one wife.

I think its wrong, and would never agree to a relationship like that. But, to each his own.
