This morning I was cleaning my ears and I had the Q-tip around the inner edge of my ear. While I was cleaning them my mom knocked on the bathroom door and scared me and the Q-tip went in my ear and must have hit my ear drum. My inner ear is now sore but not that bad it just feels a little funny. I have no hearing loss. I was just wondering if this pain will go away without seeing a doctor? I would also like to know if anyone else has had this happen to them? Should I be worried? THANK YOU :)

If you feel a sudden "popping" sensation or see any drainage, or an echo-like sound when hearing people speak, you definitely need to see a doc as you could have perforated your ear drum. If getting worse instead of better, also have it checked.

Well the pain should go away soon. But if it is still hurting in a few days i would see a doctor to make sure did not do any real damage. I have had this happen to me before but the pain went away the same day.

Do not worry for now it is probably temporary, but you whould see a doctor anyway just to make sure.

It will be alright. As long as you can hear and you don't hear any buzzing like noises it will heal on its own.
