when I was a kid we fostered over 60 homeless dogs. It was the best thing we ever did. The dogs ranged from tick covered puppies to a dog who had been shot 9 times in the chest, thrown out of a car and had his leg run over. He was the best dog ever. So yea, I guess you could say I've helped a few animals! :)

Many birds. My favorite was a baby blue jay that I found on the ground when I was about 5. We fed him hamburger, milk, worms and moths. When he got older he loved shrimp and cashews. He would steal things like my moms cigarettes and hide them up in the chandelier or on top of the curtains. He would store food supplies in my grandfathers shoes. He loved to stand on top of peoples heads. My grandmother made me wear sunglasses indoors because she was afraid he was going to swoop down and poke out my eye. He lived with us and flew loose around the house for about 6-12 months until he slowly started taking trips outside alone. He'd always come back to the window every night though. After awhile, his trips away from home were longer and longer until he stopped coming back. He showed up at the window one last time about 5 years later but just for a minute. His name was Tuffy.

yes, twice. my friend's puppy who got injured from a fight with bigger dogs. she was careless not saving the puppy sooner and the vet was going to put him down. I told her to give me time and brought the puppy back to my home. His two legs were broken and I laid him down on piles of old cloth in a basket. I fed him, cleaned his dirts, gave him pain reliever every day. He died still, the internal damage was so great.

The other one was my pet but I don't want to talk about it. The killer died in almost the same way he killed my pet. I asked for justice and it was given by whoever listened. Case closed.

We nursed a badger when my brothers found it. It was about the size of my hand. We kept it until it was too big and ate all the furniture and chewed all the moulding around the windows and doors. He was huge! His claws were longer than my hands. I have a picture of me with him when I was four years old, holding this huge badger, bigger than me! We gave him to a zoo in Spokane, WA. He was a big attraction! We named him WC because he had a big nose like WC Fields.

baby raccoon whose mother had been killed. bottle feed and wrapped it in a blanket just like a baby, and a little stuffed animal in the bed with it to keep it company ( it would cry at night after the lights were turned off because it had slept all day and of course, raccoons are nocturnal.........)It was released back in the mountains as it's wild side started to emerge.

It was cut and I still have the pictures . ( his name was RASCAL)

Yes... I used to bring home any kind of stray that needed care from birds and raccoons to baby deer and even an ex who let his alligator mouth override his hummingbird @rse at a ball game.

I had a Cockatoo for years and years and years! One day, I came home to find the maid had left a cabinet door open and my bird got in and ate some snail poison. I rushed her to the vet, but three weeks later she died! It was horrible!

Many times. I fostered kittens and cats for the humane society in the town I used to live in.

Yeah, a raccoon. It lived out the rest of it's days (8 years) in our backyard in a cage. It's wounded leg never completely healed so we just kept it as a pet. Clearly, I lived out in the boondocks!
