I have bottles, do i need to take off the lables first and then what?

It would seem that you need to wash the bottles, remove the labels, and then mortar them together, as you would with bricks.

The standard practice is to put the bottles bottom-out, and if you want to improve the insulation quality, you should seal the openings in the bottle in some way, perhaps with cork or wax.

It seems that you should only work one or two layers at a time, so as not to place too much stress on the bottles. Once they are in dry mortar, they are very strong.
