We are able to take care of asteroids don't worry about that one...
Super volcanoes on the other hand we really don't have a clue on how to handle one of these if they would happen to burst and smoke up half the planet.
Global warming, is quite alarming but we have the means to survive that. The question is how much of will survive...
Further more I'd had that the nearest catastrophe will probably be the end of the world's petroleum stocks. No more cheap transportation... No more plastic... no more Chewing gum...(I'M half joking on that one )
Still I must admit that time could prove me wrong for the future could hold many surprises...

Our own hysteria.
___We're going through end-of-era madness. Cultures get very nervous when the traditional notions of "progress" have been milked to diminishing returns, and before an authentically new age takes shape. Fear of the unknown. Our notions of progress have looked in the direction of further sensualism, emotivism, and sense-data truth (the roots of materialism & consumerism) since the Renaissance, and towards belief in a lifeless, mechanical universe and skepticism since the Enlightenment. And this is all obscured by the pathetic claims of conventional thinkers to be "radical" "cutting-edge", and "progressive", when most of what they put out is 350-600 yr-old idea-trends in new jargon. (Most, but there are a few guys who have imagination.)
___But a new age won't be conceivable within the frameworks of the contemporary one, so we have to wait until someone comes up with a new worldview, which we probably won't be able to grasp anyway, and only then will people believe in human enterprises again and have hope. The major threat now is hysteria, and the solution-obstacle is the lack of imagination among the experts, the intellectuals, the academics, teachers, and media freaks, that is, the conventional-wisdom establishment, who are hysterical in such great numbers.
___We've been through this before. So just don't panic and do anything stupid.

Fundamental theism and the people who have recklessly have nuclear weapons and no consciences about using them.
Extremist religions whether right wing or left wing are causing the majority of the problems in the world today, with their attitude that only they are right and they don't care about others views on anything because if they die , they die a martyr for a glorious cause, even if it is wrong.

There was an episode of this on 20/20.
According to them it's global warming. That can affect us in a few decades, which is pretty quick.

I think fear and greed are the biggest threats. Most of other man-made threats flow directly from these two fairly common corrosive traits. We are a much bigger threat to each other than any natural disaster.

We are our own biggest threat. The actions we take, decisions we make. Pollution, war, global warming. It's all our own fault. I'm actually kind of surprised we have made it this far.

Other human kind, or... unkind humans. Yeah, terrorism. We're more likely going to blow ourselves up before the climate becomes intolerable.
