My wife was stopped in our home town for having an expird drivers license, the cop wouldnt let her drive home, so i had to have someone come pick me up and go and drive the car home, and i was pretty angry with all this because my wife had our youngst child with her and he had a soiled diaper, and to make matters worse my oldest child was sick, we had to sign him out of school becasue he was sick, with a temp of 103, so i had to drag him out in the cold to go pick up my wife, when i got to my wife the cops were already gone, so when we finally got home i called the police department and asked for the officer who stopped her, i wanted to know why he just couldnt let her come on home, and i also stated how stupid i thought all this was, but to get to the point they put me on the phone with the captain......and he was just rude, so i told him "you are as about as stupid as the cop who stopped her, this is about the stupidest damn thing i ever heard"....so he issued a warrent for me.

It depends on the cop. It would have been better for you not to have called at all. But being that you did, you basically pissed off the Captian. If were me, I'd have said something along the lines of "Umm, yeah ok, you have a nice day too Sir" Which is still pretty jerky, but if you had called back...that would have made it an issue. The officer that stopped your wife, could have had the car towed. If he was a royal jerk, that is. And your wife wasnt licensed to drive at that point, wh would you let an unlicensed person drive off....imagine the lawsuit that would have followed had she, God forbid, gotten into an accident. All in all, you'll have to turn yourself in and refrain from calling the PD for a while.

Cops can do whatever they like when it comes to letting people drive/not drive, impounding cars, and arresting people.
It's really up to the judge to sort it all out. I would check into what the arrest warrent is for (they have to have a 'reason' to issue it).

Right now I'm fighting charges of driving w/o a license even after presenting my VALID license to an officer, who told me I was incredibly lucky that he didn't impound my car!

If you're lucky you can just talk to the prosecuter and get the charges dropped (my guess would be it would be for something dumb like intimidating a police officer - so the easy way might be to buy your way out by pleaing it down if the prosecuter won't just drop it).

Gosh dude, your wife driving with an expired drivers license with a kid with a dirty diaper that was so stupid. She should pull over and change him to prevent diaper rash, stop him from screaming so she can focus more on driving there for not getting pulled. You hicks give US Georgians a bad name no wonder the cops are always in a bad mood (dealing with people like you). And as far as giving you a warrant, you threatened the poor captain so there for he did the right thing maybe you learned a lesson from this.

convinced. interior the united kingdom, human beings might want to correctly be arrested over the age of 10. this newborn became about 12. the newborn had vandalised a bus (tagging with a marker pen on the window), the police were given them on CCTV. They circulated it round community colleges, social workers and so on, worked out who it became and went to %. them up. It became after the shape and they went 'quietly', for sure somewhat shaken and disenchanted. It later went to court docket and they were fined for the wear. enable's desire the adventure has positioned them off vandalism.

Ok well when your wife is too lazy to go renew her license on time, then maybe she deserved to get stopped, You have plenty of time to get those things done. It says right on your license the expiration date. So instead of getting mad at the cops, that you called and started **** with in the first place, why don't you get mad at your wife for her carelessness.

Sounds like a Police state. The US Constitution protects free speech.....I would consider a move to a different place. Also,I would get ACLU on this case and go for broke, I bet you they drop the charges so fast your head spins. Don't let them grind you down brother. Surrender to the warrant and demand a trial and you will be told get lost very fast. we doubt they will want to spend good money on this. (My lawyer type friends agree)

Good luck!
