Make sure there is nothing in your eye, like dirt. I scratched my eye last year and it took a few days to heal. It felt like there was a hair or something on my eyeball but it was a scratch. As long as there is not debris in your eye and no deep cut or tear of the eye then you should be fine in a few days.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT..., to get that eye covered! Get a patch put on it as quickly as possible. Keep it on for 24 hours!!!!

The eye can heal itself IF it is not a too deep if you get the patch on it. With the eyelid restrained - the natural moisture trapped in the eye will help heal it. I got this advice from an eye doctor.

Get some cotton or wadded up gauze and tape it securely over the eye. And if you need to, fashion a band to make sure it stays on.

I would recommend going to the doctor first chance you get in case of infection, because I can not tell how badly your eye is scratched. Odds are you will be fine - but there is no need in risking loss of your eyesight just the same.

I had a paper cut on my eye a few years ago, I was in the car and a paper was on the dash and when the heater kicked in, it blew the paper up in my face and cut my eye. It was hard to believe anything like a paper cut could hurt that bad and my eye just kept watering. Finally went to a doctor because of pain and he looked at it, put a salve antibiotic in it and completely covered my eye with a patch. Keeping it patched for about 5 days took care of the problem. When you get a cut in the eye, the light getting to the eye really aggravates it. Try keeping it covered and see if that takes care of it.

Scratches can be serious. You need to see a doctor, if it starts feeling worse, but for the meantime, you need to put a patch on it to prevent blinking, which irritates your eye. If its red tomorrow, definitely go to the doc. They have special lamps and drops to detect how bad it is, and will treat it with drops.(see an ophthalmologist) feel better soon.

Wahs your eyes with clean water or with eye-wash. If it doesn't get better, rush to the emergency room of the closest hospital for medical assistance.
Don't scratch it or touch with your hand.
Good luck
