What if T.R would have called Washington the N word? Would he be fired? Is there a Double standard?

2007-01-17 14:36:29 · update #2

I think that Isaiah Washington should offer T.R. Knight a very sincere apology and not speak to the press at all. I mean, T.R. was obviously hurt when he appeared on the Ellen show and in the press room at the Golden Globes, showing he was uncomfortable with the word. I think everybody was just trying to shrug it off but I don't think that Isaiah should be fired because of this because he and Christina (Sandra Oh) has great chemistry on the show and the show will be ruined for me if they replace him. Afterall they both T.R. & Isaiah act and I do mean 'act' like they have great chemistry on the show, watch tonight's show and see what I'm talking about.
I agree with you that it would have been a double standard if he were called the N-word which is why I feel the way I do for T.R. Knight and for Isaiah Washington.

what's the bigger question is the reality that he might make a fact in the form of public communicate board? He has to realize that there are effectual homosexuals interior the television and action picture community. exterior of gray's Anatomy, who is going to hire him for any significant roles? in line with risk being an actor, he has to respond to the,"Are you homosexual?" question continually. in line with risk all this Macho crap, is to dispel any rumors in any different case. this might possibly have the alternative effect. in case you're gentle with your sexuality, immediately or homosexual, you do no longer would desire to instruct something to anybody. Me thinks he does protest too a lot. in basic terms using the be conscious "f****t" is barely for the marvel fee and not something extra, like different derogatory words used to describe different people who I refuse to repeat. would desire to he get fired, nicely specific. no longer purely using this one adventure, however the disrupted nature he's inflicting on the set of gray's Anatomy. The irony in this, is the reality i think of he's a incredibly stable actor. that's marvelous for me to work out that somebody along with his skills might do something so stupid to sabotage his very own profession.

Yes, he should be fired. I seriously doubt the show will suffer at all. He's gotten way more publicity from this than from any of his acting that he's ever done. What does that say? He should pursue another career field. Maybe he can be Bill O'riley's sidekick.

First of all, we're not sure he used that word, and if he did it's his right to have his opinion. If actors were fired for having a bad attitude, Hollywood would be empty.

I definitely think he should. It's one thing to call someone that word (and have someone make a life-changing announcement due to that), but it was out of line and disrespectful to everyone involved to then deny that he had done so.

No, just don't renew his contract . Needs sensitivity training and should not defend himself in media. He should apologize if he hasn't already.
