i have a dell inspiron 2200. How can i format it in order to start fresh/

If Dell provided a backup CD disc and you want to format to when you first bought the laptop, use that instead. But if not, put your WindowsXP CD into the CD drive and restart the computer. Your computer should be set up to read from the CD first whenever you boot up your computer (if not, you have to enter the BIOS setup screen as the computer boots up and change the priority in what device to load from). As the computer reads the CD, you should soon be prompted with the option of reinstalling Windows, which then has options of formatting the computer, then installing Windows or just installing Windows, leaving everything else intact.

You have to have a start up disk at a prompt type in fdisk choose options 3 y enter choose option 1 press y ctrl,alt,del reboot to floppy again then do format c:

format a partition where u install OS?just use window cd..
but if u don't wanna use window cd,reboot ur comp n tap F8 b4 it reach the window logo..there u'll find a menu.choose the safe mode with command prompt..bla3..

It should have come with an accompanying "recovery disc". You will need to insert and reboot to run the recovery program

same way you would with a desktop.
Pop in your setup disk and say yes to boot from CD?

when you reinstall windows it will automatically do it. (redo NTFS)
