ok. I like to sing and I am so into it I can't hear anyone up stairs around me when I sing. So one night, I was sitting on the couch and my dad was like " I heard you singing the American Anthem" LOL (even though i'm canadian) and i was sholked and was like "WHAT". And my dad doesn't like many people singing and he said " I've heard worse people singing it though, you knoe the people who sing it in big games".....lol i was shocked because there is well known celbrities who do that.. So is this a compliment to me, people most people whp sand and won canadian or american idol my dad dreaded and I want a chance in the world. And my bestfriend says i'm AWESOME but she cou;d be just saying that because shes my friend and thats what friends do, but who knows???What do you guys think?

dont try for american idol. its horrible show. seriously, its really gone downhill. get a demo tape, send it to some people who have connections, go from there. but dear god please not american idol! they have thrown people away that have REAL talent, and given opportunities to people who dont have any talent. its great that you are passionate about singing! i'd say go for it. if you really are a good singer, opportunities will open up to you!

I think if you want to become a real singer you should take voice lessons and work at it.
Sure, try out for Canadian Idol, but don't place all your hopes on winning and getting your dream the easy way with some contest.
If you want to sing, do it, but be prepared to work hard and for a LONG time to achieve your goals.
