Unfortunately, very few babies are actually born on their due date. Also, first time moms tend to go over their due date. But there are some things that you could try (to help speed things along). You could try walking, having sex (believe it or not, it does work) or any other type of physical activity (within reason). Try to relax and enjoy the rest of this time with your partner (pretty soon life will be all about the baby!) . Good Luck!

I'll start with my 2nd since it's a fun story to tell. I was 3cm and 90% effaced 2 weeks before my due date. Two day before she was born I was 4cm and 100% effaced with no contractions. I didn't feel anything except extremely fat and lots of pressure. I woke up to my water breaking at 4:00am and she was born at 5:00am in my bathroom, 2 days early. Pretty crazy! I think with my first child I was in active labor when I got to the hospital dilated to 2cm and fully effaced, 5 hours later he was born, 2 days early. My 3rd child I was dilated to a 2 when labor started not sure about effacement and it took 9 hours for her to get here, 1 day early. With my 3rd I was induced the day before my due date. When I checked into the hospital I was 3cm, 70 or 80% effaced and the monitor picked up regular contractions that I didn't know I was having. He was born 4 hours later, but probably would have been born that day anyway without being induced. You could possibly go another week with your first child. 41 weeks isn't unheard of.

well it sounds like you're making progress but there's no way of knowing when that baby will come. I have a friend who's been having contractions since 28 weeks, she's now 1 day passed her due date and still nothing happening.
do some walking if you can, might get the ball rolling a little more. Good luck to you! maybe you'll be one of the 5% of women who have their baby on the due date!

Sound like it will be sooner than later. Try not to be too down if tomorrow comes & goes with no baby! Everyday your baby is inside is a day s/he needs to get stronger. Average 1st pregnancies are 41 weeks 1 day! But in my opinion you probably wont have to wait that long.

Here are some things that may get things moving along!
***TRY TO AVOID HOSPITAL INDUCTION..IT PUTS YOU AT A HIGHER RISK FOR NEEDING A C-SECTION***
Have some Raspberry tea.
Walk & then walk some more!
Have lots & lots of sex.
Try manual nipple stimulation.
Eat spicy food!
Have more sex!

Congrats! It will be soon!

There's no telling when your baby will come. Mine didn't want to come at all....and I was 80% effaced. Your due date is an estimate. It's up to your little one when he/she wants to come. Enjoy your time right now....it'll aaaaaaaaaaaalll change once that little one is born! lol Good Luck

actually pregnancy goes from 38-42 weeks, lol
I think less than 5% of people actually deliver on their due date--the majority deliver a couple days to a week before--and everyone else is after.
I hear ya though--Im 39+ weeks, at my appt. last thurs my doc said I wouldnt make it to tomorrow appt.-ha-Im still here no baby
I was 3-4 dialated and 60% thinned.

dont worry-it wont be long now!!

Don't worry it won't be long...I know you are probably dying for it to be over and to hold that adorable little bundle in your hands. For now...go out to a nice dinner...take a bath...enjoy the quiet and being able to do what you want when you want...that's all about to change.

Good luck, you are in for the most incredible experience of your life!

Only about 12% of babies are born on the due date. I know it's tough but hang in there, it could literally happen any moment.
