The medium of instruction is ENGLISH in virtually ALL PRIVATE universities-colleges in Malaysia; as most courses are aligned with foreign universities (UK, USA, Australia etc) there is NO NEED to know the malay language. Nearly all students use the english language in their conversation.

Even in government-run Malaysian universities, English is still the main language of instruction by international lecturers from various countries.

Most of the Malaysian Public Universities need not know malay to enroll it. If you would want too or compulsory to any public Uni, they would give you the language course after you enrolled to their Uni. So no worries mate!

Malay language is Malaysian national language. of course u need to know Malay language if u r Malaysian. But it is not compulsory to know Malay to enroll in Malaysian public universities. But it is compulsory for u to PASS your Bahasa Malaysia in your SPM to ensure that you are qualify to enter Malaysian public universities.
UIA and UiTM can be the right choice for you since these universities use English in all their modules.

Based on my experience I think the best standard of Public University will be UiTM. And for Private University is depends on the course. If you take a Uitm course in a private college , the standard will be just like the Uitm itself.
