Ok...I understand why the others are talking the way they are. But in actuality YOU are the only friend this man has and if you have been a true friend he will know it and reward you for it. This gentleman has lived alot of life so by no means should you underestimate him. He is old enough to of been through a few wars - wives and crooks. He's worked hard all his life and just needs a companion around him for his last days. So my advice is just keep being a friend and companion to him and I'm sure he will do right by you. Our elderly are very smart and kind people, it's the youth that treat them wrong. After all they know they cant take it with them so they have to leave it some where. Just be deserving of it.
Remember your Karma - Do good and have good done to you.

Don't just do it for the inheritance.Right now this man needs someone to talk to.Just you being there for him makes him happy. He might not be able to show it sometimes because he might be in pain or just plain old age.Believe me you make a big difference in his lonely life.Remember you might get there some day too.I hope that someone will take the time out to tend to you.Things in life just happen that way.Take care.

I think the 81 yr. old man asked a question about you in Psychology, the question was:
How do I get this guy that visits me to leave me alone? He is a bit shallow and up to no good, plus he smells!

people in general need to trust someone in order to be happy....
companionship is key for the elderly.
but doing this just to get the inheritance is twisted!
hope he donates it all to an organization that will really do good things with the money.
and if ever u do get the inheritance... i hope you'd be too warped with guilt to actually spend it on yourself and donate it as well.

If you want to have his riches from life, help him remember what it is like to live, and to forget the looming shadow of death. Take him places. Be his friend. Even if you do not get a penny of the inheritance, it will benefit you as a person.

No, I'm not going to help you with this project. The gentleman has the right to leave his money to anyone he wants, including you, but if you attempt to coerce him, anyone who chooses to challenge his will may well win. Just be nice to him because it is pleasant to have an older friend with lots of experience and interesting stories to tell. If he decides he wants to leave you something in his will, that's fine, but there's no reason you should expect it.

at that age he must be wiser than you, being old doesn't mean growned stupid. he might truly enjoy your company, but i bet he already knows your intentions by now. you might give you some for your given time but not everything. a wise person can easily tell a bad from a good one. i guess you have both. and its fine. you're just being smart. he might like it too.

Your questions sounds terrible on the surface, however, if you do spend time with him and enjoy his company I am sure he will recognize the kindness you have shown. Best advise is to be yourself and get to know him as a human being and his contributions through his 81 years of life. There is great wisdom there and a lot can be learned.

You can be as nice as you want, but elderly people are FAMOUS for making you think they are leaving everything to you, only to find out, NOT! ---Elderly people are cranky and sometimes downright mean, better to just do what you can or what you feel like doing for him and let it end at that---kay sera-sera to whatever happens.

It's nic e of you to hang out w/ him, but not if you only want to for inheritance. Maybe you should take him someplace. Unless he can't walk. Lot's of people like to go out to beaches and things that they might not see ever again.
