Actually no. I will explain.

Imperialism is when a specific country uses indirect, 'non-aggressive' methods in order to influence the direction of another country.

So you see, when a country is 'forcing' democracy that falls under occupation where a country is directly selecting the direction of the occupied country.

Imperialism is when a country doesn't occupy the other country but uses things like sanctions or trade tariffs... maybe offering mega amounts of aid, in order to get them to do what you want them to do.

I'm not saying that using military force isn't PART of imperialism. I am saying that they are separate. Imperialism usually follows some sort of direct military conflict; therefore, occupations can be argued to be part of imperialism. I am saying they are not the whole of it and that what clarifies imperialism between say directly conquering a nation, is that indirect influence of imperialism.

More like it is imperialism and Tyranny that uses a false pretense of spreading democracy as an excuse for perpetrating wars of aggression. Tyranny most often comes not in the guise of a wolf, but of a lamb. The Jewish Bolsheviks presented themselves as equality fighters. National Socialists in Germany as defenders of a nation. The ZOG US government as spreaders of freedom. The disguises may all be different, but the goals are all the same.

No,.. imperialism is more aching to Napoleon and Cesar etc. where they take over the country and make it their own basically an empire the accumulation of many countries to form one enormous country like the Roman empire and so on , What the USA is doing is trying to instill democracy under false pretenses , but it really is trying to establish a friendly grounds to service our needs of stability , consumer ground , oil supply , basically by having service access for national security . And witch better way to show the world ? ... Lets give them democracy and human rights , lets be the world police ....

It might be. Consider the democracy in the U.S. resulting from the imperialism of the British Empire. But I think that was not what you meant. So consider: if each citizen has a say in the government, how can there be an imperial government?

No; to be an Empire, you must populate and control all aspects of the society under subjugation. For the U.S. to be an Empire there would have to be a mass exodus of ambitious citizenry to the subjugated lands. Can you imagine that!! Spain wanted to be an Empire, They had enough wealth; but, could not populate the new world. Spaniards would not leave spain in large numbers. U.S. has the same problem as far as being an Empire goes.
