If you think of yourself as a loser, then you will act needy and desperate around other people. You will start talking louder and start doing things just to get people to pay attention to you. This annoys most people, and it drives them away. You make yourself a loser by thinking that you are a loser.

If you want to be "cool", act as if you are a little indifferent to what other people think of you (do this in moderation -- if you take it to far, it also looks like a desperate attempt to get attention). Notice that I did not say act rude, just indifferent. The way that you act indifferent is to tell yourself that you cannot please everyone, so the opinion of just one person does not matter. If you are trying to talk to someone, and she doesn't like you, just walk away from her like you have something else to do, and go talk to someone else. You don't need to be friends with everyone anyway, and if the first person to whom you talk to does not like you, who cares? Keep in mind that other people can not tell you who or what you are -- you decide that for yourself. There ARE nice people out there, and you will find then if you act friendly (but not too friendly) and keep talking to various people.
