I am currently attending high school and no, I am not popular. I like some of my classes (math, science, health); whereas others are not as fun. I do not like the teachers, the kids, or the GPA system.
To begin, the teachers are supposed to treat the students as young adults, but they baby us every step of the way. Instead of rewarding the students who try to be responsible, they give A's to the students who turn in homework assignments three weeks after they are due.
Additionally, I do not like my classmates. They are too immature and superficial. Most of them are a distraction in the classroom to those who are trying to learn. They tease other students for being different and most of the students at my school are closed-minded and racist. It aggravates me to hear racial slurs of such magnitude coming from all directions every day. They think they are cultured simply because their handbags have been imported!
Lastly, I do not like the GPA system. It is weighted. When I take a standard level course, which I try to avoid, and make an A, it counts as a B (3.0). Even though I have made straight A's since the beginning of high school, my GPA is a lousy 3.8 on a 4.0 scale!
I am trying to get my mom to let me be home-schooled so I can graduate early and start college sooner than I would by graduating from a public school.
Sorry about the rant, I have been a little frustrated lately.

I was popular in High School. I disliked groups of people who treated others like out casts. I liked people who were open minded and worldly.
I disliked the lunch food and snuck off campus once in a while to eat somewhere else and then come back.
I liked art, music and football, and disliked home ec and my drama teacher even though I played the lead in West Side Story.
I liked hanging out with all of my friends at the beach and I disliked getting up for school in the morning.

I was not "popular" really, I had a few good friends..mainly I hung around my best friend all the time. In retrospect, I think i was too self-conscious to be comfortable..too worried about wanting to fit in w/ the kids who dressed like me and I always thought they thought I was a loser.. but..now that I think about it, it wasnt so bad. I wish I could have gone to school back then with the all of the knowledge I have now..lol.

I didn't think I was until I was voted homecoming queen.
What I liked:
--A growing atmosphere (it's annoying and complicated, but you learn quickly how to sink or swim)
--Dressing like I wanted to (within reason, of course)
--Free education (now that I've had to pay $30K for a year of school, I respect free education more than ever!)
--Sports
What I disliked:
--Making teens feel like that they had to decide what to do with their lives NOW. Totally false. College isn't anything like they prep you for in HS.
--How easy it is for teens to want to have a dramatic life. Getting engaged at 16 may seem like a great idea, but when you look back it's VERY immature.
--Falling quickly into trends.

NOPE! I was the dork who hung out with teachers and cleaned the classroom after school. I would go to the art room and talk with the art teacher on paintings, artists, and even philosophy. Not that cool, but who cares about high school, right? It is no indicator of success. I liked art. That was it.

I'm still in highschool, and I'm not popular, and I don't plan on becoming so. As for likes, my friends are great, as are a few of my more challenging classes/teachers. Dislikes are really obnoxiously stupid people, stupid popular people, bad teachers, bad classes, and elective requirements.

To some people I was, to others I wasn't. It was a huge high school. I didn't really like anything about it except for gym and playing basketball.
