Much as I like the guy, he IS his own walking adverstisement & shrine!
We don't need to put him in the Hall of Fame just yet, not so long as he keeps reminding us about his being famous! ;)

Someday, though, I think he WILL BE put in there. But as an ICON, not a solo artist.

NO.

he helped create the machine known as van halen and paved the way for van hagar (which sold about 42 million records). he's not a solo artist, yes he's talented but he is crippled with LSD (lead singers diease) his first solo disc eat'em and smile is produced by ted templeton (who did 5150 as well as previous dave era van halen and post dave VH). i think a solo artist must show growth he hasn't, hell i like me wise magic and can't get this stuff no more (off of the best of VH Vol. 1) but its the same Dave (yes the one we know and love) But the truth is that if it wasn't for the Bros VH and michael anthony you would have a b-rated used cd bin filled artist (similar to sammy)

Both men sammy and dave are great - But they are nothing compared to what they do collectively as VAN HALEN. i know a little ain't enough is good and sure it doesn't hurt to have steve vai and billy shenan but ----- what it boils down is hunger and dave isn't as hungry after van halen, he's got a chip on his shoulder --- he's not trying to make great tunes, he's trying to out do van halen.

DAVE is the MAN --- SAMMY is the MAN and VAN HALEN IS THE BAND!! I can't wait for this 2007 Summer Tour!!!

Yeah, why not? He's been in the spotlight consistently through the years, and not just because he's Van Halen's first ex-singer. He's entertaining, had some good tunes, so i say yes, he should be inducted.
