It should be warm enough to lay out, but the water temp is about 70-75 degrees---so swimming depends on you. Typically in the summer, it's about 10 degrees hotter, the water temp. But typically, it is the tourists that you will see in the water in Dec-Feb! Ha ha. There are always people out, laying out, hanging out and lots to do in Miami. South Beach, Ft Lauderdale...etc. South FL the only warmest spot in the US during that time.

Miami Weather February

The weather at Miami beach in February is wonderful. The great thing about the Atlantic is that it maintains a year round average of 65 degrees. The pacific gets cold and stays cold, the atlantic stays warm. If miami beach is to crowded for you, just go north on the coastal road it is US 1 A 1.. about ten miles north is Hollywood beach. It is the only beach that always has public access. You can drive right up to it.. there are lots of shops and cafes and bars.. It is a great place to visit. In fact any of the beaches are great, but Hollywood beach, as I said is open, because the city of Hollywood will not allow the construction of large hotes along the beach front. It is wide open compared to all the others.. check it out and enjoy..

Miami is among the most used vacation locations and with hotelbye you will find out more. Miami has something for everybody; from the modern nightlife of South Beach, bejeweled by the eye chocolate of the Art Deco area around the bustle of Calle Ocho and the highly caffeinated energy of Small Havana. The Art Deco District delivers back memories of a youthful time in Florida with its perfectly restored 1930s Art Deco houses and is a place properly visited just like Bayside Marketplace. That place is a large outside design mall with an increase of than 150 specialty and tourist stores, numerous cafes and restaurants, and daily live entertainment.

If you're from up north, you probably could, but I live in FL, so I don't! I do see some tourists swimming there that time of year, but the beach isn't "packed" because it can feel pretty cool if the wind is blowing. Most hotel pools are heated though, and you would still have a place to swim.So far, the winter has been very mild down here, but late Jan and Feb are usually our coldest months. You might give it a try, and if it seems too cold, it isn't much further to the Keys (where it is a little warmer).

Enjoy it .... we do !!!

It should be warm enough to lay out, but the water temp is about 70-75 degrees. You will find some people on the beach, mainly out-of-staters. The Atlantic is warmer here in Miami in February than the Pacific is in LA in August.

The water is always warm in Miami. I went to Miami beach this past summer, if was beautiful!! I'm guessing the beaches won't be nearly as crowded now as they were in August.

The Atlantic is warmer here in Miami in February than the Pacific is in LA in August!!!! We do get some cool days when it might be too chilly to lay on the beach.

Hawaii is warmer, but they can get some cool weather too.

wow - will you EVER get a workout swimming in the sand -
might even make a new olympic sport

I would try the Atlantic, though, - if the polar bears can swim in freezing water - you can make it down here - may need a
wet suit if you are surfing or staying out longer
