Its a yearning to something in the past. Whether that be your own past or a time before you. Its a longing for those "good ol' days where things were simpler." That sort of thing. To have something nostalgic, is to have a piece that reminds you(or others) of a time they remember fondly.

I'm no expert but nostalgic means relating to a time in the past.
For instance, "Ted loved music from the 70s. So he had a little nostalgia about him."
If you see a bunch of people at a party and they all have 80's hairstyles, you could say the party was nostalgic.

Nostalgic is remenicing into the past. You may here older people talk about there youth and how things were when they were growing up. It is a basic reflection of the past and most of the time it is a postitive experience being looked back on.

Nostalgic = makes you think of the good old days. People only get "nostalgic" for good things. No one is nostalgic for the bad times.

Ah nostalgia. The focus of one Ghost in the Shell 2nd gig episode. Nostalgia is yearning for the past or feeling something that is connected to your past. In Ghost in the shell, the Major experienced nostalgia and remembered how she was before she got a cybernetic body.

Its like when you hear a song that reminds you of a fun time, or a sad time. Or like when you smell bread baking in the oven and you think of your granny and how that smell was not only her house but her.
