I have been searching for the best career for myself, and came across Life Coaching. It sounds like a great idea for me to pursue.. just wanting to hear of other's opinions...

Thanks pegasus, it sounds like you are doing what I want to do. I have been on what I call, The Journey of Me for the past year, and am learning a lot about myself, my life, my soul's desires, and turning over new leafs every day. I would love to hear more about your practice (if I can call it that?) and how you became involved in it. If you would like to email me, that would be great, or post more on here... Thanks.

I have done a lot of what I consider a parallel, teaching personal development. I've writtten, taught at the college level, been a speaker and trainer to business management and done individual counseling. I may be talking about something different than you. My courses had to do with understanding yourself, re-programming fundamental thinking, learning to read people and character- all aspects of personal growth.

While I think this is an invaluable thing, I was sorely disappointed in the ability of those who need it most to put the required changes in place, and it is very frustrating from that standpoint. It's also something that I don't think anyone can do well (as a teacher) by studying the subject. Until you can live it and master it, you aren't prepared.

I am not one, but I used to do volunteer work in the office for one, and not only did she love her job, but people loved her. She was happy, and she knew that she was making a difference in people's lives. It's a great thing to pursue, if you are a good motivator, and can step back and look at the big picture without being judgemental. I hope this works for you!

I am not a life coach but I see one on a weekly basis. My life has changed dramaticallysince I have been seeing her. She has taught me things about myself that I did not know, taught me how to deal with stress, how to be who I really am. I highly reccomend it. It is a life changing experience. Good luck.
