In late january of 2006 1 night when husband went down to the local small store in our town phone rang it was a girl she ask if hubby was home(ask for him by name) and when i said no who is this she hung up on me..For a few months i questioned him over and over about this call and he said many many times he didnt know anything about the call.We have been happily married 16 yrs and i totally believe him and i know he would NEVER cheat on me cause he is a good man and a great husband and would never hurt me like that and would never give another girl his number. I never got another call like that. I ask my mom if she would be suspious of a call like that and she said yea a little but whoever it was never called back and she is right but i still wonder who it was but guess i will never know and like i said i totally believe hubby..Any thoughts on this

you really can't trust anyone, so i wouldn't rule out that your man was cheating. or maybe it was someone from his past that got ahold of his number?

Megan,
You sound like you were "on your guard" when that call came in last January., and I get the reaction like your intuition was alerting you.
I don't want to go and say anything negative, bcuz only you know your Husband, we don't, so we only have your word to go by!

I'd like to know why his was reaction was with using the F word.???????
Touchy, don't you think?

Well, after reading what others have said to you, I agree, keep your eyes open, and sit back, you will know from your Husband's behavior if anything suspicious happens again, and maybe from now on you should get the caller I.D. thing for your own peace of mind.

Keep in touch!

It does sound a bit suspicious but if it only happened the once and your husband has assured you he knows nothing about it. I guess you'll just have to take his word for it, if you are sure you can trust him. Keep your eyes and ears open for any more suspicious behaviour though. I like you thought my husband would never cheat on me but he did and after 30 yrs of marriage.

True story....

I came home from work one night early on in my marriage and my wife was sitting in bed, almost in tears, waiting on me to come into the room. When I saw she was obviously upset, I asked what was wrong and she said, "who's ...........?"

I said, rather innocently, "I really don't know", to which she blows up and said she called looking for me and how much she liked to be with me.

It was a total crank call! Had never heard of her. I actually got angry about it, and that's when she realized I was totally in the dark. It still took her a day or two to get over it though.

So, what I'm saying is, keep your radar up a little, but it truly could've been mistaken identity or worse, a cruel joke. You say you know him, you've known him almost 20 years and you trust him implicity.....don't rely on some stranger calling to verify that trust...you will know from his behavior if there's something rotten in Denmark.

Think of it this way.. if he left to meet her.. why would she call the house looking for him ? she would be with him ! It is probably a telemarketer or some credit card company. I get a ton of those everyday asking for my husband. If I would be suspicious of every girl that asks for my husband by name!! Relax and trust your husband. If it puts your mind at ease get Caller ID .. Unless he gives you a real serious reason to question his faithfulness.. I say relax and trust him
Best of Luck

Well sounds to me you don't believe him. You are still questioning him after months of saying he doesn't know what your talking about . If you totally believe him then you wouldn't be asking questions right ??. Maybe you should have dialed * 69 and seen who it was on the other end. Maybe he was/ is seeing another girl. You might wanna look into it.

Isn't trust the BEST THING IN A MARRIAGE? Most likely it was a telemarketer. So, all the faith you have in your husband is well founded. Congratulations

What a coincidence that the call came while he had to run out to the store. What's strange is that you have never gotten to the bottom of it all. Communicate bc this is obviously still on your mind.
