I think you should be required to learn a language (and hopefully they have courses that are vital to the actual population of the US). But as our nation grows.. and as more and more non English speaking people are working here, (and If they are not going to fix THAT problem), then a counter solution should be at least teach our kids to have a basic grasp of a language, that they at one time or another will need it to communicate in the real world.

Here in Canada French is mandatory, but school is a very difficult place to learn a language, you need immersion and to only speak that language. I took French for 14 years and when I go to Quebec they look at me like I'm speaking martian, even though I understand them.

I dont think it should be a requirment, only an option.I mean,so many of the people will end up working at a small job in some big chain restraunt or grocery store.Of course,if you plan on going out of country, you should.

when i was in high school it was a requirement. i took three years of Latin and AP Latin. got a 3 on the AP test. yeah for me. i think that its very important and should be mandatory. i truly believe other countries are so ahead of us. i think we should start in kindergarten. we should be fluent in french, Spanish or Latin.
its not a dead language its the bases of all romance languages so its alive and well.

Culinary Arts is a cooking class. the class your finding for is extra of a organization class. counting on the state your in you will choose some language and song/arts credit. attempt chatting with a severe college counselor. Plus you may desire to recieve a e book that tells you with regards to the instructions and how many credit of what instructions you could desire to graduate.

It was when I was in high school but I don't think it should be a requirement--just an option.
