to perform a brain transplant with no serious side affects>?

The first part of my response is about the semantics of the discussion. A better way to look at a "brain" transplant is to think of it as a "whole body transplant" the other way. Because our brain really determines who we are, not all of the other cells. So the brain would really be receiving the transplant of the whole body.

Obviously right now this can't be done succesfully, and no transplant will ever really be without SOME side effects. But this could be a reasonable thing at some point in the future.
