In order to be the heiress of invention, one must know the consequences of abuse and then prevent it from becoming known to Society so that it would not be a necessity as what happened when Cocaine was legal in the U.S back in the 1800's.

If preventive meaures had been taken to realize the risk and danger of Cocaine than it could 've been prevented by not allowing it in the U.S. whereas it did become a necessity for millions, but to be the heiress of invention it was far from reality.

To be able to imagine such an orb of existence actually demands that humananity has ability to predict the future and all possible outcomes of any given issue in advance. Only then could mankind have the luxury of living an error-proof life by knowing fully all matters in advance of their occurrence. To completely prevent instead of waiting for necessity to invite a response would require man to know all possible consequences of every act . Some particular methods of prevention may result in more or less desirable outcomes. Such concerns cause man to look to a higher being, since we seem rarely up to seeing the future with any measure of true accuracy. Prove me wrong about that; make my day.

I think the world be a lot less chaotic. People have aquired through extensive learning the technical know-how of their links to advanced technology. If that knowledge would only be used as aide in helping this world and mankind, we're good as 'go'. If being used as aide for personal gratification and greed, then we're in trouble, i mean the world, if this happens, we might as well go back in time and live the life of those from the 60's or 70's where everything was just the basics.

A really great question!!

The world would not be threatened any more.... there would have been effective anti-Nuke, anti-pollution, anti-war gadgets or mechanism in place. Prevention removes threats. It is indeed an irony that prevention does not rank high in our necessities, we rather look for the more flamboyant 'cure'.

we would be reduced to virtual reality avatars cruising around in a virtual world, not unlike the Matrix????

I like the answer above mine in that prevention would need to have some caring forethought. But perhaps this world would be based on less idealistic things and more on the pharmaceutical companies, government power and selfish motive. I tend to think it would be a magnification of the world we have now, only more clinical and sterile, and more paranoid.
