my friend recently had a miscarriage she is 15 and she was about 12 weeks into her pregnancy does she need..?

to go to a doctor or not cause she doesnt think she has to and I wanna have some reasons why she should go

Your friend needs to be evaluated in order to determine she did miscarry and whether or not the baby was expelled. A missed miscarriage maybe the case and if so she will require a D&C to remove the baby. If she does not, she could be putting her health at risk for serious infections which could even lead to her being sterile (not able to have children) for the rest of her life or she is at risk for septsis, a life threatening blood infection. Please tell her to go and if she will not, tell her parents as this is no joke and her life may very well be at risk. Miscarriage does not require hospitalization, but this procedure is very important.

I was 12 weeks when I too had a miscarriage. I went to the emergency room because I was in a lot of pain. I was told I did the right thing to come in. There are way too many things that can go wrong. The worst being ...getting a bad infection that could cause your friend to not be able to have children. Or worst.
She needs a exam by a OBGYN, and will need to have a DNC.

Number one, they need to see if there are any fetal remains inside her that could cause an infection...that's a big reason she needs to go!

She may need to talk w/someone if she has any questions about either her physical condition or mental state (isn't she depressed at all?).

Big thing for her to remember is, and I'm not trying to lecture, she needs to protect herself against another pregnancy. After all, she's only 15: way too young to become a mother!!
