game cube broken?

my game cube is not working right, every time i put a disk in it says there no disk, i know that the lense is fine, could it be the motor is burned out or what?

um inside...there is this slide thing (under where the disk goes)...i think that has something ot do with it...try sliding it up or down...my gamecube was the same way...until my mom fixed it...lol=D...hope that helps!
