Some people think that when a candle burns slow it's because it does not have to expend so much energy as the goal is pretty close anyway. What are your results like after you burn a black candle? Or, how long does it take for your spell to manifest? I don't think it's because it's a *black* candle, I think it's the petition behind it that's affecting the burning time. ^.^

Cuttin the wick burned top with a clipper before every use. Put in fridge 1 hr before first time use. Light for only two hours at a time and place away from drafty areas. Place in a cool place when not in use. Buy candles with more than 1 wick, they seem to burn evenly.

heres a little tip I saw on here and tested it out myself. keep the candles in the freezer when your not burning them. when u do burn them, they will burn slower. also, only burn the candle for 1 hour for each in in diameter. so if the candle is 2 inches across, burn it for 2 hours straight but then blow it out, let it cool and then restart it.

lead in the wick, lead is dangerous so most big candle makers won't use lead wicks anymore, if you burn alot of candles you can actually die from lead poisoning .
