I really want a solid answer to this. Please help me out. If the answer is something with WWM and codecs, i REALLY don't get that stuff...

Ok, in terms of video compression rate, which involves "codecs" which are coders and decoders, a 435mb video is extremely large, and it may take you hours or days to upload depending on your internet speed - best way is to burn it onto a CD (which holds 700mb) and drop it off at your friend's house, you'll need to state its _duration_, _bitrate_ and _resolution_

If you do need to send it via internet, you should use sendspace http://www.sendspace.com/ or rapidshare http://www.rapidshare.com/

there are large numbers of video converters out there, but i recommend IMTOO MPEG Encoder 3, note that this is not free (you can look up a serial in google but, note this is illegal) , but it embodies simplicity. simply open your video in it, and change the _bitrate_ and _resolution_ on the right, generally you set it to 900 kbits, and a resolution of 640x480, or if you do want to increase its size further, 400kbits and 320x420.

doing this, you can easily reduce the file size to a third or half of what it once was, -> you can calculate this using a calculator where you divide (kbits by 8)- eg. 800 by 8, which means the video is 100kBytes per second, multiply this by the number of seconds the length of the video and you can determine the filesize.

If you're handy and like to learn, i can recommend using a freeware video editing tool "virtualdubmod" http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net/
and a codec pack, called CCCP http://www.cccp-project.net/
open your video file in virtualdubmod
and under video>filters> click add> choose resize,>set it to 640x480 or 320x480 where width x height
again, under video> pick ffdshow > click configure > and under the drop down menu, select wmv8 codec(we're using a pretty basic wmv form compression) and enter 800 or 900 under bitrate (generally what you use to make it smaller / note that video quality will decrease), then press OK

under streams > stream list> click save as WAV for your sound, save it to a folder on your computer

then once you're all done, click File > save, and wait for your video to finish encoding

once it's done, open it again
go under streams > stream list> click add, and put in the sound you saved earlier

then go under file > save as again

now this is more complicated than IMTOO MPEG ENCODER 3. so you're better off looking for that : > and getting a ser.... erm something i mentioned up top.

Hi, try downloading 7-zip the best utility around for data compression easy to use...www.7zip.com and click on data compression. Then install it and try zipping and compressing your video as small as it will take it so you can send it.
