I think even hitler is left wing compared to American standards if fox news represents america.

In UK its an approx 50/50 split - however, most Brits think of themselves as conservative with a small 'c' but are not necessarily going to vote Conservative/Tory.

At most elections, the number of votes cast for the Conservative party is often higher than those cast for Labour. Its not the number of votes that wins an election in UK its the number of seats gained.

Its first past the post and winner take all.
