Calf raises are only good up until a certain point. You're going to actually have to will yourself to jump to your maximum every time you jump, even if you're tired. The more experience you have at doing that, the more the muscles in your legs remember. Jumps that work your quad and your calves are good.

Trill Answer....................
If you want swift, affective results, jump rope every single day for 30 minutes. This will not only help your vertical jump, but also your footwork and quickness.

in high school, everyone used plyometric boxes, which are boxes that you jump up and down on, just like rep's. most gym's should have them. our whole team saw their vertical increase, but you have to be persistent.
