Wrong forum for this question but I'll bite...
Don't think of it as losing weight. When you think of "losing" anything, the subconscous fears loss, and rebels.
Instead think of it as "giving away" weight, and "gaining" health, vitality, and good looks.
Works for me. Every now and then my baby boomer metabolism and nerd lifestyle catches up with me and I find my clothes getting tigher. So I overhaul my diet, go back to basics of greens, fruits, and lean proteins, and and healthy exercise, and think of "giving away" unhealthy weight and "gaining" health. Within a few weeks I'm back to a healthy weight and feeling lots better.

Keep trying on those favorite jeans that feel too snug for your comfort. When they start to feel less snug is motivation for me.

The scale just frustrates me. It fluctuates within hours! One moment you lose, the next, you've gained!

Inches lost is a better indicator and motivator!

The more you lose, the better you will feel overall, not just emotionally and mentally but physically too. It's not something you think about or strive for, it just happens as the weight comes off.
