I am ready, but I'm not quite sure the population as a whole is ready. Part of the reason is because there haven't been any
'golden" women candidates. If the political views were great enough and the women was well-known, I think she would win regardless of her gender.

No we are not ready for a woman president simply because we think we are not ready. I don't think a candidate like Hillary Clinton could be any worse for the nation than the current administration. Let face it we are all armchair political commentators that don't have direct access to the real internal views of a presidential hopeful. Yes, as a body of people we are lied to constantly. We cannot fully know what a candidate will do until they are in office. But I will say this: our presidential choices reflect the dept of our nation's prejudices and fears. If you want the course of the nation to change so must our choices of leaders also change.

Yes we are ready. I only know of two female candidates who have a chance right now though. Hillary Clinton and Condi Rice (Yikes!, that scares me!).

No, I do not think we are ready. Condi Rice is far and away the best candidate, but men are (for the most part) still looked to for leadership.
