My computer says I have a DVD/CD-RW drive will that burn DVDs

on the cd drive it will show DVD+- RW, if you are using Win XP, on the my computer the cd drive part will show "DVD-RW Drive" not "CD Drive" or "CD-RW Drive".

go to START, then click CONTROL PANEL, then click SYSTEM, then HARDWARE . then DEVICE MANAGER, click on DISK DRIVES. Now this will tell you what you have cd drive or dvd drive. If it says DVD drive, then if you can only play (unlikely) you will have DVD r drive. If the DVD can burn it will have DVD RWdrive. Mine has Sony DVD RW DRU-830A. Incidentally, if you buy a drive get this one it is $43 on pricegrabber.com. Way lot cheaper than at Circuit City.

It's very simple. Do you have a DVD burner? If you don't, then it won't.
