I think that the iPhone is probably going to make the most impact by the fact that its an internet communications center, not so much as it is a phone, or even less so the fact that it can play songs. If all the iPhone could do was go online, I would be happy. Most of us dont even use our phones for talking anyways. But I think what apple should have done is to just go ahead and make it a PDA mac. I mean thats basically what it is right now, except it doesnt have ilife. If apple just made it to be more of a miniature mac than a really fancy phone, I think it would have been a lot better. And memory could have been larger as well. 8gb? C'mon. If apple can make 80gb ipods, it can surely make something better than an 8gb "phone." communications device fits it better.

I'm really not looking forward to the scratches... I'm not spending $500-$600 on something that is going to scratch that easily. I've had a bad enough experience with my iPod.

I can also see the whole finger controlled touch screen thing as a negative. The iPhone is hot, fingerprints aren't.

Cingular wireless? Hell no. I'm not in the mood for being nickel and dimed to death again. I've had nothing but problems with cingular... Then again, that's just me.

The technology itself is awesome. I mean COME ON. A phone runing OS X? So many advanced features... visual voice mail. Gotta love it. I'm a bit disappointed in the fact that there aren't any 3rd party apps available.

For me to buy the thing, it would need to come in a smaller size... Maybe as the nano is to the regular ipod. Also, i need it made out of a different material. I don't want scratches or fingerprints 3 days after I drop half a grand on it. The phone needs to be opened up to any network, and 3rd party apps need to be enabled. Oh yeah, battery life sucks. Increase that too.

After all that, lower the price to $300 or under, and I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

Wow I checked it out on apple's website and at first I wasn't really impressed until I saw some of the wild features it has. I really like how if you turn it sideways the orientation of the screen changes with it. The features of having a touch sensitive widescreen ipod are amazing, I think I would get it just for that and not even the phone features! So it looks like it comes packed with a lot of cool functionality. I would say the only con that I can see is that it is only going to be launched under Cingular.

I don't think any Apple device is better, for hardware reasons. Apple has 512mb or RAM and Androids have 2 or 3GB RAM. Also, Androids have larger screens which might appeal to some people. Plus, if your wake and home button are broken, you can't turn it on! Androids have the power button on the side for more protection.

Pros:
Sweet design
Awesome touchscreen
The sweetest device from Apple

Cons:
WAY too much money.
I believe they are only like 4 or 8 gbs of space.

All together, I would not get it and would rather get a PS3. I like my current iPod.
