Tiger barbs are egglayers and will not deliver young fish. The best thing to do is to leave them together. If she is not stimlulated by the male to expel the eggs, she could become eggbound and die.

If there are a lot of plants in the tank, the eggs may develop and some babies (fry) might escape the other fish.

Tiger barbs are an agressive fish and should be kept in schools of at least 6-8 fish to avoid excessive fighting and bullying. They are known as fin nippers and should not be kept with long finned slow moving fish such as bettas, discus or angelfish.

you would possibly want to favor to commerce them in for far less agressive fish- even as barbs are nonetheless comunity fish they opt for to chase one yet another, and 5 galleons doesn't provide the "sufferers" a lot room to swim away. you've gotten extra useful success with a small college (3-5) og guppies, neons, mollies, zebra danios or some thing similar. in case you quite opt for to save your barbs, attempt is to placed some hiding places on your tank- puppy shops promote hollow adorns with holes for this purpose. In a pinch you could placed some sideways mugs to make "caves" only be positive there is no cleansing soap on them.
