question about the AK-47 WASR-47 and this is about the gun wo no smartass comments.?

i was thinking of buying a AK-47 WASR-10 and they tell me that it is the cheapest of all the AKs so please tell me how good and how bad it is.and tell me everything there is to know about it.

You clearly want an honest answer due to your no smart comment statement, so I will give you just that.

AK-47's of all type and size are basicly trash guns. They are built with the lowest standards, lowest budget, and weakest marketing campain I have ever seen, and heres why.

1. The claim is that the firearm in question will withstand any abuse you wish to give it and keep on ticking. This is true in a way. The rifle was designed as a throw away military 3rd world firearm. Its purpose is to work while filled with mud and so on....However what they dont tell you is that because of its design of over sized borrings, It is a firearm that will no stand the test of time. I.E. You fire 5,000 rounds threw a Colt AR15 and the wear would be half that of a AK-47 firing that same 5,000 rounds. I own 2 AK's and I will tell you that neither of them would be my choice to have when needed. I have seen Jambs, Misfires, and complete failure from both at the range. Both the guns are in excellent condition and all parts are new as far as clips and so on. The point being, dont beleive everything you hear about this wonder gun.

2. Unless you plan to fight off the police in your backyard for an hour, theres no point in having it. For fun there are several options that will last at around the same price. The AK is ment to spray bullets, they are by no means dead on when you start making that crack shot. Dont beleive me ? If you get one, put it in a vise and fire 5 rounds one at a time after targeting each one. You will find that the grouping is much like that of a Red Rider BB gun.

3. Bragging rights! If you say to your good buddy down the road that you just got a AK, he will jump for joy and help you shoot it until it falls apart. Tell a Collector or sportsman, anyone who knows about them, and they will laugh you out of the room. In the Gang world I guess AK's are hot, however for some reason 99% of the field required to deal with people who are on the lose with that cheap AK use AR15's or something of the same type. If you really want bragging rights, buy a HK, any HK will do. It doesnt get better I assure you.

Best advice I casn give you is save your money alittle longer and go for a good gun, but if you decide to go to the AK world, then you too will understand why when the SEALs and Rangers, SO's and so on go swimming and come from under the water crawling through mud and sand they dont have an AK on their back or in their hand. What do they have ? HK's and AR15 variants. I assure you no one puts a gun threw more hell than a US Navy SEAL !!
