Spirits are loving and ghosts are just trapped? explain..?

some one told me this, what does it mean?
and how loving, and 'how' traped

Spirits are souls that have crossed over. Ghosts are trapped because they more than likely don't want to be dead or don't know they are. They get trapped when they don't go to the light, but they can go anytime.

i never heard of that one. but in my culture spirit and ghost are one in the same. if they are around it means that their loved ones will not let them go. also when they first die, before they begin their journey they tend to hang around. this is a dangerous time for the young and the old. the spirits like to take someone with them and they are no longer loving. spirits are always mean and vengeful.

Spirits are those who have died but gone on to the other side "heaven"

Ghosts, there are many different types. More commonly the "ghost" you may mean, are the ones who have passed over but not wanted to go on to "heaven". They may have unfinished business on Earth, they may not want to leave a loved one, they have may died a traumatic death and not 'realise' they are in fact dead.

Ghosts could be ones who've passed trapped in their fears or emotions. Spirits could be ones who've passed free of fears and emotions.
