I thinks thats a good idea. Smoking is retarded. All it does is mess up your lungs anyways. I say keep it up Canada! If people want to argue with me go ahead, but there are other ways to deal with stress than to mess up important organs.

I think it's great. I don't smoke and I hate going places and coming home smelling like smoke. I live in Minneapolis and there is a smoking ban here too. They are trying to make it state-wide and I hope they do. If you want to kill yourself, do it at home, don't hurt others. I do think it's kind of dumb when they say you can't smoke outside on a property though, I mean, as long as you're far enough away from the door so smoke doesn't go inside. Who cares?

This is now a law in Ohio also and quickly spreading to outside areas such as school campuses. No, I do not think this is stupid. I am totally against smoking and I don't like to be around those who do smoke. Five minutes standing beside a smoker leaves me smelling like a smoker. Totally for not allowing smoking in public places.

Stupid? No. An affront to science, democracy, freedom and common sense? Yes.
Have they gone too far? Absolutely. The imposition of this by-law was achieved by lying to the public, presenting opinions as science, limiting public discussion to hearing only those who supported them and by manipulating the political process to ensure its passing. Sickening and wholly depraved.
Removing the rights of both individuals and businesses to conduct their affairs within the bounds of the law is the opposite of what good government does. Hence we witness bad government in action. And like the cancer they bleat and bark about with such volume and vigour, their actions spread to other governments, equally adept at misleading the populace, and the self-righteous know-it-alls impose their version of Utopia on everyone else.
Like it or not.

It's the best. I moved to New England a couple years ago and I love the ability to go out and not have to smell all that smoke. Plus, when I get home, I don't smell like an ashtray. Yea!

We have the same law here in Winnipeg. I think it's great. The last thing I want to do is breathe in second hand smoke. It's bad enough we have to smell it when we walk through the exits to get outside. (smokers gathering at the doorways)

We have the same laws here in Oz, I am a smoker but in all honesty I don't like sitting in a restaurant with smoke all around me when eating either so it really doesn't bother me.

that people in Ottawa don't like being poisoned by stinky secondhand smoke. Good for them. It's not so bad to smoke outside, anyway, Canadians are used to extreme cold....

I think more and more states.work places, bars ,restaurants will be going smoke free
I do not necessarily think it is right because the people that do smoke have rights too, just like the people who don't smoke
it is a very controversial and touchy to a lot of people
but that is just my opinion.........
