Each child develops at a different rate but there are certain guidelines that show regular developmental progress. Most children at the end of three months can grasp at small toys and shake them. Now with you children being twins, they may have been born premature. My son was and he developed closer to his original due date than his birth date. Now dont be deeply concerned since they are not that far behind and like i said most children develop differently. If you continue to be concerned talk to your doctor and see what they think. Working on this with your babies is a great way of connecting with them and helping strengthen their grasping reflexes. My son just had to do a short stint of physical therapy to strengthen his shoulder muscles and wrist muscles and then in 4wks he was fine. Good luck and dont worry, all children are different and each one is a special gift from God.

Baby Holding Rattle

Yes, babies are able to hold rattles and any other safe object with a handle, or a part to grip onto. I would say starting from at least 1.5 months is when an average baby can grab things. I said can, they don't have to though. So please don't take that as an offense. Good luck with your baby twins!

All babies are different when it comes to development. Being able to grasp and object is a milestone. 4 months is usually the time when they start grabbing things and putting them in their mouths to teeth on. If they haven't reach this milestone by 6 months let your doc know of your concerns. Remember if your babies were preemies their development might a little off schedule compared to full term babies. 4 month is such a fun age!
