Again it depends on where you are moving from, what your lifestyle needs are, what part of the city you plan to live in, if you are renting/owning, etc. There are many details to consider. Yes we are cheaper than California and NYC but we are not Iowa either.
And you can live on a lot less than 50K here - I lived on 12K for a year as a volunteer.

It depends where you are moving from & what comparisons you are making. If you compare it to the cost of living south say TX or GA, it is far more expensive for rent & owning. If you compare to CA, it is inexpensive. Your lifestyle would be comfortable if making 50-60k minimum as long as you don't need to drive the Mercedes, live in the high end area of town, etc.

That realy depends on rent or Own a home my Mother in law is making it on $24,000 a year and the Metro area has it ALL. The best thing is that if you want to get away just drive. Its all good New houses are going up everywhere so The pre-existing homes are going lower with more options in them.

Real estate is relatively cheap in Denver compared with other cities, however, the cost of living is lower and wages can be lower in some industries.

Don't know what you make. But, Apartments are about $800 a month +/- a hundred . Utilities ,gas , food, about the same as anywhere else in the country.
