I think he is a democrat, but that is really irrelevant. The ironic part is he may be the only peron to end up doing any jail time over this entire case. The US dept of justice and US Attorney general are now looking into civil rights violations and criminal misconduct on the part of Mr. Nifong. As well as the state and local bar. He has wrecked these kids lives all for political gain. Only now is he ducking for cover, but not fast enough. He hid the evidence that said these kids did nothing, ignored irrefutable evidence at least one was nowhere near the crime and took the unsubstainiated word of a crack head hooker in order to further his political career. He needed one more term to get his full state pension. Sure hope it was worth it when the families get done suing him into the poor house!

He is a Democrat, I think. But the point of the matter is that no one knows for sure what is going on. They can only go by one side of the story, the Defense's side. Very little is known about what the prosecution has, and everything that is reported is from the Defense or the initial police reports. No one knows what she wants or is saying, because the DA has been tight lipped on the case.
Therefore there are no "facts" being presented. We won't know the facts until this goes to court. Even though the rape charges have been dismissed, they men are still being tried for criminal confinement and sexual assault.
I for one would love to see these guys go to prison and see what it feels like to get raped.

Maybe I'm reading too much into your question, but are you trying to imply that his party affiliation a direct effect on his actions?
I personally think his actions should be evaluated and he should be held professionally responsible for his actions.
However, as despicable as I think his actions have been, he's just a DA on the local level and I don't see a direct connection to his choice of party. If he had claimed that he because he was a democrat and working for the poor, abused, strippers all across this land that are being forced to use their bodies to make a living by contracting with spoiled, rich, yuppies, then I might agree.

He should go to jail if found guilty of misdemeanor period for at least 10 years .It will send a message to rest of hot shots.Never mind his party affiliations.
