The course is a 6 month course. I plan to take the certification test in July after the course is finished. Once I finish the class how do I go about finding a job. I have already checked all of the hospitals websites, careerbuilder, monster etc.. Most want 2 to 3 years exp. This class only gives me a year exp. I can go back to the next class that starts in July and that will give me another year exp. Will employeers hire someone fresh out of the class? I don't have any medical exp. I have been in the banking field the past 5 1/2 years and am looking to change to a career with higher pay. hopefully. I'm not really sure where to start. Can you help?

You're right, most employers want medical coders to have a medical background. Many people have to work first in a medical office before they are allowed to be a medical coder.
If you can afford it, I'd suggest you work full-time in a medical office, or at least part-time, so you'll have some experience before you apply for a coding job...

I administer an online medical coding Continuing Education certificate program at a community college, and that's what my instructors tell me they had to do to get started in the field as a medical coder and as a medical transcriptionist...

Good luck!

Your school should have a job placement office. Check with them. Also...talk to the girls in your doctors offices'....they may be able to help you with leads.
