What is the difference between a Poll or a Survey versus Chatting?

I guess a poll or survey is kind of like asking a whole bunch of people what their opinion is on something and with chatting you are just talking usually with one or two people
i dont know i guess you could use a poll or survey as an excuse to chat if you wanted to :)

LOL...it's hard to know. There isn't much difference is there? I have posted questions in P & S that were deemed "chatting" and removed, they really should state more clearly what is acceptable and what isn't.
