"Because they were better than Russia at the time" is no excuse. Had Reagan been a real leader he would have seen how overblown Russia was as a threat and wouldn't have armed such a nefarious and unpredictable group as the Taliban.

Funny how circumstances never change in some people's minds unless the change can be used against people or parties they disagree with.
When you make a decision, you do it with the information that you have available at the time. Therefore, it is the best decision you can make at that time. Later, when something changes, the first decision may not be appropriate any more. That does not mean that the first decision was wrong, just that it isn't right anymore and a new direction must be taken. You can't second-guess every decision you need to make. Otherwise, you'll never do anything in fear of ever being wrong.

I don't worship any man. I hate to burst your bubble, but the group that Reagan gave support to in order to end the Cold War was not called the Taliban and it was not comprised of the same leaders.

If you knew your history you would know the answer. I am not going to take the time to educate you though just a waste of time. so far Ronald Reagan was the best president in modern times and I miss his humor and wit and the way he dealt with Russian communisum.

I believe Reagan lied in the Iran-contra affair by denying arms sales.
I don't get this game of well your guy is worse, can't we all just agree that the majority of politicians are corrupt just some more than others.

See, you got the whole thing wrong. Reagan was supplying the Afghan Freedom Fighters so they could resist the Soviets, but America abandoned Afghanistan after the Soviets collapsed and that's whn the Taliban took over. It pays to be attentive in school.
