Britney Spears was a popular child star and singer. Something happened when she tried to make the transition to an adult, and she's been making a number of life mistakes--bad choices in men, partying too much, etc, even though she had a very sheltered, pristine childhood.

What's your theory on what went wrong? I think she was given such a perfected ideal of the way things were supposed to be that when people stopped protecting her, she was still around the same unsavory types as before in the music industry, and she had no defenses developed against them. So I'm in the more "extreme naivetés'" school than the rebellion one.

Unfortunately her handlers and parents raised her as a performer. She has no idea how to be a normal person. When ever she doesn't get her way she acts out for attention. It's sad that she thought she could buy KFed's love and loyalty. Children are not responsible for their parents marital problems. Maybe if her parents taught her the value of self respect and self esteem she wouldn't be such a mess. As a child, the adults around her used her and misinformed her about the ways of the world. She hasn't made a healthy transition from childhood to adulthood. The pressures of Hollywood and Parenthood has sent her over the edge. Maybe she should take a break from the spotlight and get some professional help. Even the new issue of US Weekly "Brit's New Man" makes me feel sorry for her. She seems to like hooking up with losers and users. Over all it's just such a sad situation. Maybe KFed should get custody of the children.

I think because she's immature, and I guess she's been spoilt-by others and herself- from a young age, so, you know, she tends to take things lightly and thinks it'll be all right if she makes a lot of mistakes cause someone will fix them for her. Other than that, I think Britney is addicted to popularity, and that may explain all her partying, and showing up everywhere in trasluscent dresses, or with no underwear, she just likes to be talked about, sadly, by the way she's behaving the only thing everyone is talking about is how ridiculous and pathetic she seems, when really if she grew up we could be talking about the great mother she is, or how great her new song is...or whatnot. I kinda feel sad for Britney, though, I used to like her when I was like 13, even though I grimance at the thought of ever liking her music (I respect anybody who likes it ;)) I'll look back to those years of the old Britney with hope.

I think it's simply a case of experiencing fame a little too soon... at least for her. She was, like, what... 10/ 11 when she was in the "Mickey Mouse Club" and had her first hit when she was barely 15/ 16?!
Naturally all that lure of wealth, glamour, etc is tempting especially more so for someone as impressionable as her. I also feel she is messed up currently due to the lack of being with the "right" kind of people.
But she also allowed her life to be an open book too. Basically, she's got noone to blame but herself.

I think the price of fame has gotten her down. Some celebrities, if I may be honest with you, are baffled by the fact of themselves and think that they're the best. So if anything goes wrong, so do they, and everything just turns out horribly. I think what went wrong with her was that after giving birth and entering motherhood, she's had a lot of ups and downs. Okay, that's understandable. She went through a tough, public divorce and is still fighting custody of JJ and Sean Preston. A lot of people have been talking about her trying to be better, and she's been trying to, so we'll have to wait and see if time will tell. That's what I think.

She certainly did not have a normal childhood. She worked her way through it, now didn't she? Worked harder than many adults do.

I suppose that as a child, she always wanted to rest and to do her own thing without everyone telling her what she had to do all the time.

Now, as an adult, she has that right. She's made a lot of wrong choices, and I doubt that she can ever make everything right again.

She was taken out of high-school and forced to become an idol for her peers. She always had people protecting her and sheltering her, and probably not much parenting, and I guess she was just too naive for her own good. She's probably feeling that she's wasted her life and she's rushed into marriage and had kids waaay too early.. it might be a bit of a mid-life crisis and the fact that she's actually an adult and she's finally discovered how poorly she was being treated/used by Kevin Federline. Now she's just trying to rediscover herself and she wants to be a teenager again... the only thing is, she IS an adult and she's responsible for raising two little boys.

Anyways, I hope this is a lesson for her little sister.. hopefully she won't make the same mistake.

Its funny, I dont even think of her as an adult. I see the things she does and just think that she is immature. She makes bad choices.

She's very tacky-and has such disregard for things...Ive seen her photographed throwing ashtray trash out of a balcony window...the 'barefoot in the public bathroom' photos were just disgusting.

You cant even begin to imagine the childhood she's had, traveling, working, on TV, doing shows all over the country...all before the age of?? I think her parents could have taught her better - maybe they did....she's just really, really immature.

She was raised to be a go-getter and I think she kind of grew tired living the life of a celebrity. She wanted someone to belong to. She made the mistake of choosing the wrong man whom I think is nothing more than a parasite. Maybe if she hooked up with someone who really loved her, perhaps things would be much better. God knows what the future holds, but I hope things would get better for her.

Well just like Jessica Simpson when you have parents who have greed and money signs in their eyes trying to profit from their child its never a good combination. What is best for the child, morals, and standards are thrown to the side for the almighty dollar. More times than not the parents from the time the child comes out of the womb to the time they turn 18 can either make or break a persons life.

Brittany Spears, like Michael Jackson, had no childhood. She was always working. Now she is trying to be a child, as well as an adult, at the same time. No maturity is her problem, at this time.

I always wonder why women date, marry - guys who have 1-2 day old beards on their faces. They ALWAYS turn out to be jerks.
