There are two parts to terrorism: the spreading of paranoia and fear and asymmetrical warfare. They are hiding because in open combat, they know they are technologically and numerially inferior to the Americans and other western forces. By asymmetrical warfare I mean they do not wage war like actual armies and they are extremely opportunistic. They use anything to their advantage and are adept at using their environment. Take Afghanistan for instance. The terrorist insurgentcy there is highly effective at mountainous warefare and hit and run tatics. I can not tell you where they are hiding but I gave you the reason why.

The Aryan Nations was formed in Hayden Lake, Illinois, by a group of white supremacists who were heavily armed and had a dislike for law enforcement officials. This organization was allegedly responsible for the killing of a Jewish radio host and the wounding and/or killing of law enforcement officials.
